Make Sexy Messy Curls
- You want to give your hair a little bit of grip, so start by putting some Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam on dry or wet hair and blowdry it in.
- Then you want to put a lighter hairspray in your hair. I prefer Paul Mitchell Extra Body Finishing Spray, since it has good hold but doesn’t weigh down your hair. Just a light spray all over your hair; this is just to give it grip, this isn’t your final spray.
- You can use either a flat iron or curling iron for the curling. Grab all different sizes of sections of hair: bigger sections equal looser waves and smaller sections equal tighter curls.
- With the curling iron - keep the iron open and wrap your hair around the rod. The key is that the ends aren’t curled, so hold on to the end of your strand. For heavier hair, spray the curl when you are done with the section.
- With the flat iron - keep your hair strand flat and twist the iron with your hair in it. If you need to, randomly grab ends and straighten them softly.
- If you are finished, flip your head over and hairspray. I prefer the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray.
- Finally, run your fingers through it to create that messy, tousled look.
* Remember, the key is keeping your ends straighter.
